Golf Simulator Equipment
Everything around the launch monitor: impact screens, enclosures, hitting mats, projectors and simulator software. Dedicated gear roundups are coming; until then, these guides cover gear choices in context.
Screens
Impact screens take the hit and display the projected image. Key specs are material (multi-layer vs single-layer), noise, bounce-back and image quality. Screen size usually sets the enclosure size (8, 10 or 12 ft wide). See screen sizing in our room size guide.
Enclosures
Enclosures frame the screen and catch mishits with side and top netting. You can buy them inside a package or separately; see Package vs DIY for current enclosure-only prices.
Mats
The mat matters for your joints and for realistic club-ground interaction. Budget at least a few hundred dollars for a mat that forgives slightly fat shots; we cover mat costs in How much does a home golf simulator cost?
Projectors
Short-throw projectors mounted above or behind the golfer avoid casting shadows on the screen. Throw ratio and mounting position must suit your room depth; see room size by launch monitor type.
Software
GSPro, E6 Connect, Awesome Golf and manufacturer apps each have different pricing and launch-monitor compatibility. Compare prices, platforms and launch-monitor support in GSPro vs E6 Connect vs Awesome Golf, and see what each launch monitor costs per year in launch monitor subscription costs.
