GSPro: biggest course list, Windows only

GSPro lists $250 per year (USD plus any taxes), including updates for the life of the subscription. Its former lifetime add-on is no longer sold; existing lifetime licenses keep working, according to GSPro’s FAQ.

Courses. GSPro ships with a driving range and access to a course server with 2,500+ community-created, lidar-based courses, plus a list of official courses. GSPro notes the community courses are not endorsed by the real-world clubs.

Hardware. Windows 10 or 11 only; GSPro says it is not available for macOS or iOS. Its recommended minimum for 1080p play is 10 GB free space, a GTX 3060-class GPU, 16 GB of memory and a stable internet connection; for 4K it recommends an RTX 3080 or better and 32 GB of memory.

Launch monitors. GSPro’s FAQ lists official support for 31 devices, including the Garmin R10 and R50, Rapsodo MLM2PRO, FlightScope Mevo Gen2, Square (Home) and Square Omni, Bushnell Launch Pro, Full Swing KIT and several Uneekor and Foresight units. It notes SkyTrak is not on the official list.

Watch for: brand prerequisites. GSPro states that MLM2PRO users need Rapsodo’s Premium membership, Bushnell Launch Pro users need a Gold subscription, Foresight users need FSX 2020 or FSX Play, and Uneekor users need the Pro Package.

E6 Connect: iPad and PC, polished course library

E6 Connect describes itself as cross-platform: the same features on PC and iOS. It lists 100 courses in its library and says 18 of them are on Golf Digest’s “Top 100 Courses in America” list.

Plans. E6’s site describes a Basic subscription, which rotates the courses and mini-games available each month, and an Expanded subscription with access to the full library (excluding premium course content). E6’s own page doesn’t show prices; the FlightScope store sells the Basic annual plan at $300, listing 27 standard courses, 12 rotating courses and 17 practice areas. Pricing and bundles vary by launch monitor brand, and some launch monitors include E6 access, so check the price for your device.

Hardware. PC: Intel i5, 8 GB RAM, an Nvidia 1070-class GPU, 25 GB storage, Windows 10 64-bit and an internet connection. iOS: iPad Pro 1 or later, iPad 5 or later, iPad Air 3, iPad Mini 5 or iPhone 8 or later.

Watch for: E6’s PC requirements are lighter than GSPro’s, which matters if you don’t own a gaming PC. You can try a free demo with the practice range and Aviara Golf Club.

Awesome Golf: cheapest entry and widest device support

Awesome Golf lists US prices of $14.99/month, $159.99/year or $349.99 for a lifetime license, and says every license, including lifetime, gets future feature updates. New users get a 14-day free trial.

Licenses are tied to your launch monitor, not your device, so you can switch between Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, iPad/iPhone and Android with the same launch monitor.

Watch for: the lifetime price is the lowest long-term software cost of the three. It’s a strong fit if you don’t want a PC in the room.
