Golf Simulator Installation Cost (2026): What Pros Charge

Golf simulator installation costs about $5,000-$10,000 per bay in labor from national installers (Oct 2026). What's included, local builds and DIY.

Golf simulator installation cost is the line item most budgets miss. The price of a launch monitor and enclosure is easy to find; the price of getting it built, aligned and calibrated in your room is not. This guide collects the installation prices that companies actually publish, as of October 9, 2026, and explains what each one covers.

We haven’t hired these installers or hands-on tested their work. Prices come from public product and service pages, linked below, and they change often (how we research).

Short version: a professional, flat-rate golf simulator installation from a national retailer costs roughly $5,000 to $10,000 per bay in labor, on top of equipment. A local custom builder quoting the whole room is a different product, and published project budgets start in the low-to-mid five figures.

What a professional installation includes

The national services describe similar scopes. Indoor Golf Outlet and Indoor Golf Essentials both list:

  • a pre-install room layout or planning review,
  • enclosure assembly and impact screen installation,
  • projector mounting and alignment,
  • launch monitor placement and calibration,
  • turf or hitting mat placement and cable management,
  • software configuration and a walkthrough before the crew leaves.

Indoor Golf Outlet lists 1 to 2 days on site for a standard install and 2 days plus up to 1 more day for wall padding on custom builds, with scheduling about 2 to 4 weeks after design approval and 100% prepayment. Indoor Golf Essentials lists 1–2 days (standard) and 2–3 days (custom), 3–4 weeks lead time, and full payment before scheduling. Both state that equipment is purchased separately and that coverage is the continental US.

Shop Indoor Golf’s $4,999.99 assembly service is sold as an add-on to a package bought from Shop Indoor Golf; the listing says its scheduling team calls after the order to book the visit.

Local installers vs national flat-rate crews

There are two different businesses behind the phrase “golf simulator installation”:

National flat-rate install services (Shop Indoor Golf, Indoor Golf Outlet, Indoor Golf Essentials) assemble and calibrate equipment you buy. Pricing is published, scope is standardized and the crew travels to you.

Local design-build companies handle the whole room: consultation, site visit, equipment sourcing, framing or built-in screens, and after-install support. For example, Assembled Golf describes a contact, site visit, contract, procurement, install and support process, and Minnesota’s All Seasons Golf cites project budgets from $15,000 to $60,000 or more. These firms quote per project rather than publishing flat labor rates.

Which is right depends on the room. A freestanding enclosure in a garage rarely needs a design-build firm. A finished basement with a built-in screen, padded walls, recessed lighting and an overhead launch monitor usually does.

Costs that sit outside the installation quote

Even a full install quote may not include:

  • Electrical work. Dedicated outlets for the projector and PC, or ceiling power for an overhead launch monitor, may need a licensed electrician.
  • Room prep. Drywall, flooring, removing obstructions and painting walls dark to reduce projector glare.
  • Equipment. Launch monitor, enclosure or screen, mat, projector and PC. See how much a home golf simulator costs for current prices.
  • Software subscriptions. Often $100 to $600 a year depending on the platform; see launch monitor subscription costs.

Is professional installation worth it?

Professional installation is worth considering when:

  1. The build is permanent. Built-in screens, framed walls and padding are carpentry, not assembly.
  2. Anything mounts overhead. Projectors and overhead launch monitors need solid mounting and precise alignment.
  3. The room is tight. In a short or low room, a few inches of screen or tee position matter; see our room size and ceiling height guides.
  4. Your time is worth more than the fee. A first-time enclosure assembly plus projector alignment can take a full weekend or more.

DIY makes more sense for a freestanding enclosure package with a floor-standing launch monitor, which is how most packages are designed to be set up. Our package vs DIY guide compares the trade-offs.

Questions to ask any installer

  • Is equipment included, or is this labor only?
  • What is the exact scope: framing, padding, electrical, projector mount, calibration, software setup?
  • How many days on site, and what is the lead time?
  • Is payment due upfront? What happens if the room isn’t ready?
  • What workmanship warranty is offered, and who handles equipment warranty claims?
  • Can you show completed projects similar to mine?
  • Which launch monitors and software platforms do you install and support?

Bottom line

As of October 2026, published golf simulator installation costs run from about $5,000 per bay for a national flat-rate assembly to $7,000–$10,000 for custom national installs, with equipment extra. Full custom rooms from local builders are quoted per project and commonly land well above that. Price the equipment first, decide whether your room needs carpentry or just assembly, then get at least two written quotes.

FAQ

How much does it cost to install a golf simulator?

As of October 2026, national retailers publish professional installation (labor only, equipment extra) at about $4,999.99 per bay at Shop Indoor Golf and Indoor Golf Outlet, $6,500 for Shop Indoor Golf's custom install listing, $7,499.99 per bay for Indoor Golf Outlet's custom tier, and $7,000 to $10,000 at Indoor Golf Essentials. Local custom-build firms quote whole projects; Minnesota's All Seasons Golf, for example, cites budgets of $15,000 to $60,000 or more including equipment.

Does golf simulator installation include the equipment?

Usually not for the national flat-rate services. Indoor Golf Outlet and Indoor Golf Essentials both state that the launch monitor, enclosure, screen, mat and computer are purchased separately. Local design-build firms typically quote a complete project including equipment.

How long does a golf simulator installation take?

The published national services list 1 to 2 days on site for a standard install and 2 to 3 days for custom builds with wall padding, with scheduling typically 2 to 4 weeks after design approval.

Can I install a golf simulator myself?

Many people assemble enclosure packages themselves. Professional installation makes more sense for built-in screens, padded walls, ceiling-mounted projectors or launch monitors, electrical work, or when your time is worth more than the fee.
